A new title!

We went to the Granite State Shetland Sheepdog Club’s agility trial this weekend.  This was Bitti’s first time back after several months off for a breeding that unfortunately  resulted in no puppies.  She had a really good weekend, on Saturday she Q’d in Excellent Standard and won the class!  On Sunday, she Q’d in Excellent Jumpers earning 1st place, she also Q’d in Standard on Sunday. This Q earned a 2nd placement and completed her Excellent Standard title.  So she has a brand new AX title after her name now!

Ahhhh, joie de vivre…..

Cocoa is nearly 6 months old, she is a full of energy and is always busy doing something.  She has such an exuberance, such a joy of living that you can’t help but smile just being around her.  I took a few candid shots of her while she was playing in the yard today…..boy does she know how to have fun!

Cocoa throoughly enjoying a romp in the yard, she is even smiling!

A rare moment when she was still!

A rare moment when she stood still, probably just catching her breath!

Lucky 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend was the Pioneer Valley Kennel Club’s agility trial, it was held outdoors at Dufresne Park in Granby, MA.  I only entered Robbie on Saturday and he really came through!  JWW was our first class of the day, I don’t think I was really awake when we were on course…..or at least my body was not moving like I had planned anyway <ggg>.  Walking the course I planned what I wanted to do, and 2 or 3 alternates depending on how things played out when we were running.  When time came to run, Robbie did….I felt like I was in slo-mo, so we didn’t go with plan A, or B, or C for that matter….it was a think on your feet and a “Hail Mary” call off of an off course tunnel that actually got the job done and the ”Q” in the end!  Thank you Robbie for “hearing” me when ou were so certain I was sending you to the tunnel!

The afternoon Standard course was very a bit tricky, having to send the dog through a tunnel under the dog walk, and somehow get to the tunnel exit on the other side…well for all of my worry over that spot Robbie handled it beautifully and “Q’d” in Standard as well!

That was our LUCKY 13, 13th Double Q……and counting :-)   It’s 2 weeks till our next trial, I can hardly wait!

First Night….

Cocoa attended her first night of obedience classes tonight, considering her wild and crazy attitude it might be more appropriate to send her to reform school!  She is a quick learner, she is also very energetic, agile and FAST.  I think she will be a lot of fun in the performance areas when she is ready!  But for now, I have to work on taming the beast! LOL!

Qualified for Nationals!!

Robbie and I have been having a great time at the agility trials this summer!  This weekend we attended the Old Colony Trial held in Amherst, NH.  On Saturday Robbie won the Excellent B JWW Class!  Then on Sunday he placed in Excellent B Standard and Q’d in JWW too!  That was our 12th Double Q!!!!!!!!!!!!  With the addition of the points we accumulated this weekend, we have now qualified for the 2011 AKC National Agility Championship that will be held in Lexington, Va!

A New “Hat”…..

I have learned so much over the last few years training with Monique Plinck at Criterion Agility.  Her insight has been amazing, and has really helped Robbie and I to become a true team together.  Recently Monique asked me if I would be willing to help her teach an Obstacle Excellent class!  I am excited and honored to be working with her :-)

Being one of the instructors at Criterion will definitly be like “wearing a new hat” for me, and one that I am really looking forward to as well!  Tonight was the first night of our class; we have such a great group of young dogs in this class,  I know that it will be a lot of fun to help them learn , and to watch them become true agility partners with their handlers!

There was a really beautiful trainers bio posted for me on the Criterion web page, click here to see it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Sheltie……

Cocoa is 20weeks old, she thinks puppies should never have more than 2 feet on the ground at once.  Actually most of the time, there is no need for feet on the ground at all, as far as she is concerned!

Cuckoo for Cocoa- Puff…..

The little imp is nearly 16weeks old and what a “she-devil” she is!  This picture was taken earlier today, when she stood still for barely a second long breather during one of her zooming sessions!  She LOVES to zoom!!  Cocoa has had loose teeth for a few days now,  the first one fell out today…..I can’t wait until ALL of her “shark teeth” are gone, perhaps my wounds will finally heal, LOL!

NEW PICTURES…..

Jetta is finally coming into coat and looking REALLY nice too!  I took a couple of impromptu photos of her today, just took her outside and clicked.  When I downloaded them and saw how nice she looked…..I wished that I had actually planned this and groomed her first, LOL!  Oh well, she looks lovely anyway!
