Now XXX rated!

For this weekend’s trial we were back up in New Hampshire at American K9 for a trial held by the Agility Club of New Hampshire.  The dogs put in some nice runs.   Bitti is coming along nicely, she is really consistent on course! Robbie had a really nice run in JWW and won the 16″ Excellent B JWW class on Sunday.  He also won the FAST Excellent A class, that gave him the third leg need for his Excellent Fast title.  So he is now “triple X rated”<ggg> because he has his MX MXJ and now XF titles!

Christmas came early this year…..

We went to the Agility Club of New Hampshire’s trial this weekend.  On Saturday, Bitti Q’d in Excellent  B JWW and Robbie Double Q’d earning his 17th DQ!

Then on Sunday, Robbie had a repeat performance earning his 18th DQ!  Bitti also Double Q’d- this is her first DQ…..so she is now officially on the way too!

Sitting on 18 DQ’s and nearly 1000 MACH points, Robbie and I are finally within striking distance of his MACH, I can hardly wait for our next trial!

In the homestretch now…..

This weekend we went south and found the weather even colder than what we left behind!  We attended an agility trial held at Gloucester County Dream Park, in southern New Jersey.  Robbie picked up 48 points and Double Q #16 toward his MACH.  We are officially in the “homestretch” now…..just 4 left to go for his Championship!

Not to be outdone by her big brother, little Miss Bitti earned the last leg needed for her Excellent Jumpers with Weaves title too!  So she is now in both B classes, working on her Masters titles and her MACH too!

This winter should be very exciting for us at the trials!!

Attack of BIG FOOT!

American K-9 Country is the site where many of the trials we attend are held.  Recently they put rubber coating on their agility pause table.  Along with the rubber skin a  Paw-Print logo was added.  The first trial held there following this change saw many reactions from the dogs getting on and once they were on the table.  I could not resist this picture of Robbie mid-air as he was getting on the table…..his expression looks like he is thinking, “OMG, what on earth could have left a paw print THAT BIG!!!!”.  LOL!!!!

Holy Paw Print, WHAT left that print!?!?!

Lucky 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend was the Pioneer Valley Kennel Club’s agility trial, it was held outdoors at Dufresne Park in Granby, MA.  I only entered Robbie on Saturday and he really came through!  JWW was our first class of the day, I don’t think I was really awake when we were on course…..or at least my body was not moving like I had planned anyway <ggg>.  Walking the course I planned what I wanted to do, and 2 or 3 alternates depending on how things played out when we were running.  When time came to run, Robbie did….I felt like I was in slo-mo, so we didn’t go with plan A, or B, or C for that matter….it was a think on your feet and a “Hail Mary” call off of an off course tunnel that actually got the job done and the ”Q” in the end!  Thank you Robbie for “hearing” me when ou were so certain I was sending you to the tunnel!

The afternoon Standard course was very a bit tricky, having to send the dog through a tunnel under the dog walk, and somehow get to the tunnel exit on the other side…well for all of my worry over that spot Robbie handled it beautifully and “Q’d” in Standard as well!

That was our LUCKY 13, 13th Double Q……and counting :-)   It’s 2 weeks till our next trial, I can hardly wait!

WE ARE BACK FROM “MATERNITY LEAVE”!

OK, so I didn’t actually have the puppies….but, I was not about to leave them to go to an agility trial either.  As a result, today was our first trial in many months.  We traveled a little over an hour to South Glastonbury, CT to attend the Southern Berkshire Golden Retriever Club’s trial and I have to say the dogs gave me reason to be proud!

It was Bitti’s first stab at an agility trial, so, I entered her only in the Novice Jumpers Class…..just to get her feet wet and see how she would do.  Well, she came through with flying colors…..blue that is, coming home with not only a Q, but, a beautiful blue FIRST place ribbon!  She earned her first leg toward her Novice Jumpers title by WINNING the 12″ Novice Jumpers Class!  She was well under course time, not only did she have the best time in the 12″ class…..there was only one other dog in all of the jump heights that had a better time!  That dog was a very fast 24″ Border Collie…..Bitti finished the course in 26.44 seconds the BC finished in 25.9 seconds.

Not to be outdone by his younger sister, Robbie put in 2 very nice classes and DOUBLE Q’D too!!  He came home with another 28 points toward his MACH!!
